Welcome
to Abruzzo - Adriatic Coast

Roseto degli Abruzzi is a seaside resort on the Adriatic Coast with one of the most beautiful beaches in Abruzzo.  Its well-equipped tourist port is ideal for small boats.  For lovers of sports, Roseto offers tennis courts, skating rinks, a school of windsurfing, horseback riding and waterslides for children.  The promenade is perfect for jogging and relaxing walks.

Apart from a relaxing holiday, Roseto degli Abruzzi offers a summer program filled with various cultural and artistic opportunities as well as a rich sport calendar at an international level that has extended the tourist season from April to October.

The town offers many opportunities to art and culture lovers thanks to the many churches present, also in the outskirts of the town.  There is also the Museum of Culture in Montepagano and the local art gallery which is housed in the town hall.  The library which is also in the town hall has many precious donations on show.

Roseto degli Abruzzi is a live and active town that has always been connected with important international cultural and sport events.  The most important sport event is the basketball tournament “Trofeo Lido Delle Rose” which is the oldest summer tournament in Europe, perhaps in the world, and has been organized since 1945.  There are many stories attached to the tournament which go down in the history of basketball worldwide from the post-war period to the present day and include the first victory of the Soviet Union against Italy that took place in Roseto on 7 August 1976.

Apart from the “Trofeo Lido delle Rose” the town hosts many other sport events such as minibasket tournaments and junior football matches; roller skating exhibitions, international beach volley competitions and high-sea fishing championships.  You can say that Roseto is an all-round sport town.
On the cultural side, Roseto is busy every year organizing the art exhibitions that are held at the town hall and the film festival “Roseto Opera Prima” which over the years has presented important guests such as Alberto Sordi, Massimo D’Apporto, Giuliano Gemma, Tinto Brass, Florinda Bolkan, and Stefania Sandrelli.  The link between culture and enogastronomy is close felt and for thirty years there has been the “mostra dei vini tipici” which takes place in Montepagano and gives the tourists the possibility to taste the regional wines as well as some of the local specialities.
